Welcome to my introductory professional website!

I am Purna Chandra Bhusal, a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where I teach First-Year Composition as an instructor of record and serve as an Assistant Director for the First-Year Program. I have an international and interdisciplinary academic journey. I have earned my Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in English from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, as well as a Master in Social Science from Nord University, Norway. Besides, I have completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and History, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English from Tribhuvan University, and completed a one-semester (30-credit) course in Master in International Education and Development at Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway.

As a researcher and writing instructor, I aim to develop a writing pedagogy that is meaningful, agential, rhetorical, and wise. My pedagogical approach connects classroom writing to diverse student interests, local communities, and shifting glocal contexts. To inform my teaching, I investigate how writing intersects with contemporary cultural and technological shifts. My research interests include writing pedagogy, generative AI literacy, and rhetoric.
